Thousands of electricity consumers across six regions are expected to experience power outages today as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) undertakes planned maintenance works and addresses technical faults affecting parts of its network.
The outages will affect communities in the Eastern, Tema, Accra East, Accra West, Volta and Ashanti operational areas, with additional fault-related disruptions reported in parts of the Western and Ashanti West regions.
ECG says the maintenance exercises are aimed at improving service reliability and strengthening the electricity distribution network.

Several communities across the Ashanti Region, including Offinso, Barekese, Kodie, Kwamang, Atonsu, Gyinyase, Ahinsan Estates, Kotei and Chirapatre, are also expected to experience interruptions throughout the day.
Technical Faults Cause Additional Blackouts
Beyond the planned maintenance, ECG reported fault-related outages in some areas.
A broken high-tension pole at Ankasa has disrupted power supply to several communities in the Western Region, including Enchi Township, Elubo, Asemkrom and Jema.
In Accra West, a technical challenge at the Nsawam Primary Station has left communities such as Hebron, Medie, Samsam and Satellite without electricity.
A transformer fault near Old Melcom in Kumasi has also disrupted supply to parts of the Adum Central Business District and adjoining areas.
ECG Apologises
ECG has apologised for the inconvenience and advised residents and businesses in affected areas to make alternative arrangements during the outage period.
The company says engineers are working to complete maintenance activities and resolve technical faults as quickly as possible.
Customers have also been advised to treat all fallen power lines as live and dangerous and report any electrical hazards immediately.
Power supply is expected to be restored immediately after maintenance works and repairs are completed.
