Well-known Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has launched his campaign for the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
On Sunday, February 26, the acclaimed actor Cum Farmer made a social media announcement about his plans.
If he sails through the primaries, this will be the second time the actor will be contesting the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat.
In a Facebook post, Mr Dumelo said “After extensive consultation with my God, my family and our party faithful in Ayawaso West Wuogon! This is the second coming.”

In the 2020 parliamentary elections, Lydia Alhassan of the NPP defeated Dumelo. He received 37,478 votes, or 48.30% of the vote, while Lydia Aalhassan received 39,851 votes, or 51.36% of the vote.
Actor Fred Nuamah to contest for Ayawaso West Wuogon seat
Dumelo will face competition from another actor and movie producer, Fred Nuamah who also announced his intention to contest the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary slot for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
