When it comes to drinking water, many of us agree that it offers several health advantages.
With the body being 60% water, it is recommended that water be consumed on a regular basis to maintain the body hydrated.
To get the advantages of bodily hydration, doctors suggest that you drink eight (237-mL) glasses of water every day.
However, for a variety of reasons, some individuals drink more water than is necessary.
Dr Stefan Kabisch, a Nutritional Specialist located in Germany, has warned against this approach.
Drinking too much water, especially in one sitting, may be fatal, according to him.
He emphasized that the liver has a limited storage capacity for the body’s sudden influx of fluid.
Therefore, “Anything in excess of a half to 3 quarters of liter is inadvisable because it leads to unhealthy dilution of the blood. In severe cases, it may well be life-threatening.”
He then advocated that individuals should only drink as much water as their “body-thirst” need.
Many self-proclaimed beauty experts on the internet suggest that drinking more water keeps your skin looking youthful and wrinkle-free.
Dr. Kabisch, on the other hand, has refuted the notion.
“Like any other organ, our skin also needs plenty of water, so you need to listen to your thirst and ensure that you are drinking enough. But drinking more water than our body tells us, doesn’t reduce wrinkles or anything,” he clarified.
