Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari has been reappointed as the First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) for the next four years.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo re-appointed him.
Dr. Opoku-Afari is a Ghanaian economist and the First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
He was appointed to this post on August 7, 2017.
Opoku-Afari had worked at the International Monetary Fund before becoming Deputy Governor (IMF).
He also worked for the Bank of Ghana for 13 years, rising through the ranks to become the Head of the Special Studies Division in the Research Department between January 2005 and June 2006, and later elevated to the position of Special Assistant to the Governor of the Bank of Ghana from June 2006 until his departure in October 2009.
