The election of Convocation Representative (Non-Professorial) yesterday at the University of Cape Coast saw Dr. Justus Deikumah being elected for the position.
Of a total of one thousand and eighty-six eligible voters, 760 votes were cast. Valid votes were 758 with two invalid ballots.
The position was contested by four persons – Dr. Justus Deikumah, Dr. Rebecca Dei Mensah, Dr. Christopher Yarkwah and Mr. Ebenezer Aggrey.
The newly elected representative, Dr. Deikumah polled 278 to emerge winner. Mr. Ebenezer Aggrey came second with 208 votes while Dr. Dei Mensah and Dr. Yarkwah polled 158 and 114 respectively to assume the third and fourth positions.

In another development, the Ghana Association of University Administrators GAUA- UCC has also held elections to elect executives.
Mr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu has been elected President with Mrs Juliana Audria Dankwah as the Vice President. Mr. Felix Adu Poku is the Secretary, Mrs Charity Abrahams- Assistant Secretary and Mr. Alfred Prah as Treasurer.
The executives have a two-year mandate.
