Ghanaian Amapiano artist DJ Azonto has criticized rapper Medikal for allegedly using his popular slogan “Alla” without permission in the recently released single “Shoulder.” The track, featuring award-winning artist Shatta Wale and Beatztrap KOTM, has quickly gained popularity, topping charts on various streaming platforms.
In a statement signed by Sammy Anim, Public Relations Officer for the Rolls Royce Family, DJ Azonto’s management expressed disappointment over the unauthorized use of “Alla,” which they consider a key part of his brand.
“The term ‘Alla,’ a central element of DJ Azonto’s signature slogan ‘Alla Woyo,’ is an established aspect of his artistic identity, closely tied to his image, live performances, and fan engagement,” the statement noted.
Its unexpected inclusion in “Shoulder,” without credit, permission, or collaboration, is viewed as a violation of intellectual property rights and brand identity.

The management is demanding $100 million in compensation, along with diamond chains and other unspecified items, to resolve the matter amicably.
“If these demands are not met, we will pursue full legal action against all parties involved,” the statement warned.
“We have consistently reminded creatives that intellectual property is not free for public use. In an industry where originality and identity are crucial, such infringements cannot be tolerated,” it concluded.
