The Legal Advisor to the Denkyirahemaa and Secretary to the Planning Committee for the installation and coronation of the 26th King of Denkyira, Lawyer Emmanuel Kojo Nannah, has dismissed as false and misleading social media reports alleging that a court injunction has been placed on the upcoming coronation ceremony.
In an exclusive interview with ATL FM in Cape Coast, Lawyer Nannah described the viral claims as deliberate attempts by faceless individuals to create confusion and disunity within the Denkyira Traditional Area ahead of the much-anticipated coronation of Odehyie Kwame Mensah (known in private life as Oscar Kessie).

“There is absolutely no injunction on the coronation of the 26th Denkyirahene. The King has already been duly and properly installed according to custom and tradition. The event will take place as scheduled,” he stated emphatically.
According to him, all arrangements for the coronation, which is slated for Monday, October 20, 2025, are progressing smoothly, with a week-long lineup of activities planned in both Jukwa, the traditional capital, and Dunkwa-on-Offin, the administrative capital of the Denkyira State.

He said invitations had been extended to chiefs, dignitaries, government officials, and traditional representatives from across the country, and the committee was working closely with security agencies to ensure a peaceful and dignified ceremony.
“Preparations are far advanced. We have coordinated with the regional and district security councils, and all traditional authorities are in full support of the coronation. There is no cause for alarm,” he assured.
Falsehood and Misinformation
Lawyer Nannah expressed concern about the growing trend of misinformation on social media, cautioning members of the public to verify information from credible traditional and official sources before sharing.
He alleged that the rumours were being spread by some individuals falsely claiming royal lineage from the Agona clan of New Dweben, adding that such persons are unknown to the royal family and have no legitimate ties to Denkyira land or stool succession matters.
He further noted that the Denkyira Traditional Council and the Denkyirahemaa have maintained strict adherence to custom, ensuring that the selection and installation processes followed all traditional protocols in line with the heritage of the Denkyira Kingdom.

Significance of the Coronation
The coronation of Odehyie Kwame Mensah marks a major milestone in the history of the Denkyira State, one of the oldest and most influential traditional entities in Ghana.
The event is expected to attract thousands of people, including traditional leaders, government officials, and members of the diaspora.
Lawyer Nannah said the new King is expected to drive development, unity, and cultural renewal within the Denkyira Kingdom, emphasizing that the planning committee is determined to ensure a successful, peaceful, and memorable ceremony that reflects the rich heritage of Denkyira.
He called on the public, especially residents of the Denkyira Traditional Area, to disregard all rumours of injunctions and rather rally behind the new King to foster unity and progress.
