In the country’s battle against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has documented 8 additional fatalities.
These casualties occurred over the course of two days. As of December 10, Ghana’s death toll stood at 1,251.
According to the recent statement from the Service, the number of Covid-19-related fatalities as of December 8 was at 1,243.
Meanwhile, 854 active cases have been reported, increasing the total number of confirmed cases in the nation to 131,718.
About 22 individuals who are combating the virus are in severe condition.
According to the Ghana Health Service, 129,613 people have been released from different hospitals and health centers after recovering from the illness.
So far, 664,810 tests have been performed at Kotoka International Airport (KIA). Out of this total, 3,380 were found to be positive.
To guarantee that Ghana achieves herd immunity against the virus, the Ghana Health Service has improved its inoculation tactics.
The authorized vaccines from AstraZeneca (ChAdOx1-S), Moderna, Pfizer, Sputnik-V, and Johnson & Johnson are being utilized for the exercise.
Since December was designated as Vaccination Month, approximately 864,763 doses of vaccine have been administered between December 1 and December 14.
The GHS has given over 6,420,973 vaccination doses in total. Again, 132,721 children between the ages of 15 and 17 have been immunized throughout 13 regions.
There are no statistics for the Western North, Savannah, or Oti Regions, however, 25,640 pupils have been immunized in the Eastern Region.
