The arrest warrant issued against Madina Member of Parliament Francis-Xavier Sosu has been revoked by the Kaneshie District Court.
This comes after he applied for a stay of execution, requesting that the Kaneshie District Court set down a bench warrant issued by the court on Monday for his arrest.
The arrest warrant was issued after the Member of Parliament failed to appear at his trial on many occasions.
Communication was seen from Parliament to the Police Service, but the Court has repeatedly ruled that the Legislator is on Parliamentary duty and will not be prosecuted.
According to a communication released by the Member’s Office, Francis-Xavier Sosu appeared in court on Wednesday with Minority Leader Haruna Idrisu, Former Deputy Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine, Former Deputy Interior Minister James Agalga, Former Youth and Sports Minister Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga, and other Members of Parliament.
The matter will be heard again on January 12, 2022.
