The Ghana Police Service has taken decisive action by interdicting three officers in connection with an audio tape that has become the focus of an ongoing parliamentary investigation.
The interdicted officers are Commissioner of Police (COP) Mr. George Alex Mensah, Superintendent Mr. Emmanuel Eric Gyebi, and Superintendent Mr. George Lysander Asare.
The interdiction, announced by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Grace Ansah-Akrofi, is a necessary step to pave the way for disciplinary proceedings against the officers in line with Police Service regulations.
The audio tape, which has garnered significant attention, has raised serious concerns and warranted a thorough investigation.
The audio contains a conversation among the 3 interdicted officers who are reported to have been discussing ways and strategies to remove the current Inspector General of Police IGP, George Akuffo Dampare from his position.
