The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George has asked the Acting Director-General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, to supply his office with a compilation of all frequency authorizations either issued or renewed within the past sixty (60) days.
This directive is in line with the government’s Operation Recover All Loot agenda.
According to a statement dated Wednesday February 12 2025, the Minister considers this a mandate to ensure that state resources under the jurisdiction of the Ministry which have been handed over to private interests – inconsistent with the law and laid-down procedures – must be recovered for the State.
“This marks the first phase in what would be a complete audit of all frequency authorizations to ensure sanity in the use of State resources in the broadcasting space,” it stated.
