The Ghana Police Service has arrested 141 suspects, including a landlord, in a major intelligence-led operation targeting cyber-enabled financial crimes in parts of the Greater Accra Region.
The operation, conducted on Friday, December 27, 2025, was jointly carried out by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in collaboration with the Cyber Security Authority, National Security, and the Ghana Immigration Service.
According to a police statement, the suspects were arrested from their hideouts in Tabora and Lashibi, two areas identified as major cybercrime enclaves, following weeks of sustained intelligence gathering.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were part of well-coordinated cybercrime syndicates engaged in a range of illicit online activities, including Mobile Money fraud, romance scams, sextortion, business email compromise, and wire fraud. Their operations, police say, targeted victims both within Ghana and abroad.
During the raid, security operatives retrieved 38 laptop computers and 150 mobile phones, believed to have been used in the commission of the crimes. The seized devices have since been sent for forensic examination to aid further investigations.

“All 141 suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations,” the statement said, adding that the suspects will be processed and arraigned before court in accordance with the law.

The joint operation forms part of a renewed national effort to combat cyber-enabled crime and protect the integrity of Ghana’s digital and financial ecosystem.
The Police Service reiterated its commitment to working with partner agencies to track, disrupt and dismantle criminal networks exploiting technology to defraud unsuspecting victims, while urging the public to remain vigilant against online scams.
