Cape Coast, Ghana – Christmas Day brought an extra dose of joy this year to families in the Cape Coast Metropolis. Hospitals across the city witnessed the heartwarming arrival of newborns, each a precious Christmas miracle.
At the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, the maternity ward was a scene of celebration and gratitude. Nurses adorned in Santa hats welcomed each new arrival with gentle care and warm smiles. Although the number of babies born were not immediately made available to ATL FM NEWS, while waiting for a confirmation from the management of the Hospital, a cursory look saw about five (5) babies delivered in the morning.
At the Cape Coast Metro Hospital, the first baby, a boy named Kojo Bronya (literally meaning, Kojo Christmas), arrived just as the clock struck midnight, his first cry mingling with the distant sounds of Christmas carols.
Meanwhile, the University of Cape Coast Hospital, each birth was a moment of pure elation for the parents and the medical staff, who have worked tirelessly to ensure safe deliveries.
According to the in-charge at UCC hospital maternity ward, “each birth is special, but there’s something truly magical about Christmas babies. They bring hope and remind us of the wonders of life.”
The hospital, decorated with festive garlands and lights, provided a warm welcome to the newest members of the Cape Coast community.
Parents, overwhelmed with happiness, shared their feelings. “It’s the best Christmas gift we could ever receive,” said new mother Alice, cradling her newborn son. “He is my little miracle.
Each hospital took special measures to ensure the health and safety of the newborns and their mothers, while also allowing for festive cheer.
Families of the newborns were greeted with small gifts and heartfelt wishes from the hospital staff.
The birth of these babies on Christmas Day at UCC Hospital, Cape Coast Metro Hospital, and Cape Coast Teaching Hospital not only brought immense joy to their families but also to the Cape Coast community, serving as a beautiful reminder of the hope and renewal that the festive season represents.
