Chef Ebenezer Smith ought to have consulted Dr. UN, also known as Kwame Owusu Fordjour, before starting his cook-a-thon initiative.
Dr. UN explained that he was unaware of Chef Smith’s cook-a-thon until he started receiving tags in social media chats during an interview on Onua FM on July 10.
On July 10, he informed Nana Yaa Brefo that Chef Smith could have received greater notoriety if he had planned his own cook-a-thon on his own without the GWR’s recognition.
He proposed that creating a personal brand for the cook-a-thon might improve its sustainability over time and pave the way for it to become a yearly event.
In response to a query regarding the kind of advice he would have given Chef Smith, Dr. UN stated that he would have offered Chef Smith a citation and made sure a High Commissioner did so in order to give Chef Smith some credibility.

“I didn’t even know anything about Chef Smith or the cook-a-thon saga. It was when someone asked me why people were tagging me about the issue before I went to do my research.
“I think Chef Smith should have consulted me before attempting his cook-a-thon.
“I would tell him to do the cook-a-thon on his own (without going under the flag of Guinness). He could have branded his cook-a-thon to be even bigger than the Guinness World Record brand.
“Because after the Guinness attempt, they would leave him, but if it was his own brand, he could continue with it and even make it an annual event,” he said.
“I would give him a positive citation which could give him a standing on his own. I would even bring a High Commissioner to present the award to him to give it some credibility,” he added.
At a press conference last week, Chef Smith declared that he currently holds the record for the Longest Cooking Marathon.
He proudly showed off a Guinness World Records certificate, which turned out to be a fake.
