The New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region have elected Charles Opoku to represent the party in the Assin North by-election on June 27.
Charles Opoku garnered 397 votes out of 536 total valid votes to beat his sole contender, Frederick Freeman Amoah-Kyei, who polled 136 votes.
Earlier, Charles Opoku was confident in winning the elections as he indicate he had been working hard to undertake development projects in the Assin Norty communities.
He will now battle with James Gyakye Quayson of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Assin North Parliamentary Seat on June 27, 2023.
Despite the Supreme Court ruling that James Gyakye Quayson is not qualified to contest the seat, the NDC party executives have chosen James Gyakye Quayson to contest the seat unopposed on the ticket of the NDC come June 27.
