The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Justina Marigold Assan has assured the people of Central Region, that under her tenure she will see to the revival of the Ameen Sangaari soap factory, indicating that the company will soon receive the needed assistance from the One District One Factory secretariat to start its operations.
The soap factory has suffered a financial and operational distress leading to its shutdown.
At a meeting with heads of departments in the Region, Mrs. Marigold Assan said her office will ensure that the factory receives the needed assistance to bring it back to life.
“Ameen Sangaari has made a proposal to One District One Factory secretariat for assistance and that assistance I understand is almost through. Thus, we are going to work closely with Ameen Sangaari to move to the One District One Factory secretariat and push for the support the factory wants for its revitalization.”
She further disclosed that the planning unit of the Regional Coordinating Council in partnership with the Central Region Development Commission is in the process of developing a strategy that is going to help hasten the growth of the Region.

“As part of our plans to accelerate development in the Region, the Regional Planning unit of the RCC in collaboration with the Central Region Development Commission has instituted a Committee to look at a Regional Development Strategy”
“This is going to guide our part in development and ensure that our development strategies are put together to move the region forward,” she said.
She also stated that henceforth, the academia will be involved in the development agenda for the region and added that no one will be left behind in the quest to help the Central Region develop.
At the meeting, she asked the heads of department as well as agencies to give her the needed support so that together with her they can make a positive impact in the region.
She went on to say that as stakeholders they must work with the resources at their disposal to give the Central Region the facelift it deserves.
