Renowned Canadian vocalist Celine Dion has declared that she will not let her struggle with stiff person syndrome prevent her from performing live once more.
Celine, 56, promised to resume live performances even if it meant crawling to the stage and using her hands to speak during an interview with American television personality Hoda Kotb on the Today Show.
“I’m going to go back on stage, even if I have to crawl. Even if I have to talk with my hands, I will. I will,” she vowed.
Celine initially revealed in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a condition that results in rigid muscles in the arms, legs, and torso. Emotional anguish or noise is known to produce spasms in these muscles.
Before going public, she disclosed that she had been fighting Stiff Person Syndrome covertly for 17 years.

The sick singer acknowledged that symptoms had been plaguing her since 2008.
She recently said that she feels like she’s “being strangled” due to her Stiff Person Syndrome.
Dion continued by saying that she had broken a few ribs and frequently has cramps.
Dion was forced to postpone a few of her 2023 and 2024 tour dates in May of last year due to her lack of strength.
When asked if she will be able to perform again, Dion told Vogue France she “can’t answer that” at this time.
Over her decades-long career, Celine Dion has sold over 250 million albums.
