The Central Administration Welfare Association (CAWA) at the University of Cape Coast has elected its new executives to steer the organization’s activities for the next two years, starting from January 2024.
The newly elected executives include the Chairman-Mr. Kofi Konadu, Vice Chairman-Mr. Isaac Grantson, Secretary – Mrs. Golda Azameti, Assistant Secretary – Ms. Gifty Amewudah, Treasurer – Ms Selina Otoo, Financial Secretary – Mr. Evans Ekow Otabil, Welfare Officer – Mr. Thomas Thompson, and Co-opted members – Mr. Kweku Arhin and Ms Anita Afful.
Addressing the association’s recent general meeting and election, outgoing Chairman Mr. James Welson expressed gratitude to members for their unwavering support during the outgoing executives’ tenure.
He also urged members to extend continued support to the incoming executives to ensure the seamless operation of CAWA.
In his response, the newly elected Chairman, Mr. Kofi Konadu, expressed appreciation for the members’ confidence and pledged to uphold the positive initiatives initiated by the outgoing executives.
In an interview with ATLFMNEWS, he emphasized his commitment to implementing the welfare of all university workers, particularly those within the Central Administration (CAWA), Registrar’s office, and other departments.
In addition, Mr. Konadu extended an open invitation to all members of the university community, underscoring the association’s commitment to supporting each other in times of need.
He emphasized the association’s open-door policy, stating, “We are open to receiving new members from across the university community, irrespective of your department or sector. Our primary focus is to ensure the total well-being and satisfaction of all our members, allowing us to stand together in difficult times, which is at the heart of the welfare association.”
