The Cape Coast North Taxpayer Service centre of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) as part of its corporate social responsibility to society has donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the cape coast metro education directorate.
The donation is to be shared amongst some selected schools in an attempt to stem the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.
The items included hand washing units, liters of liquid soap, and tissue packs.
The items were received on Wednesday by Mad. Judith Akoto on behalf of the Metro Director of Education, Dorcas Brenda Opare.
Presenting the items, Mad Esther Kraku, the office manager for Cape Coast north taxpayer service centre said, the gesture was to ensure the needs of students were met by protecting them from the pandemic.

The core mandate of Ghana’s revenue authority is to mobilize revenue from stakeholders, taxpayers for national development.
Mad. Esther Kraku noted that the health of the taxpayers is paramount to the effective payment of taxes in the country.
“They need to be in good health, have a sound mind, and be able to work so that they pay the tax…if we reach out to our school children, and they are healthy and have no problems, then the parent will have the sound mind to be able to work and generate the revenue for us,” she emphasized.
Mad. Judith Akoto applauded the Authority’s efforts and stated that the gesture will go a long way in curbing the pandemic in the schools.
She also encouraged all and sundry to be good citizens and pay their taxes to enable GRA to give back to society.
