The Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku, popularly known as Raga, has donated GH₵20,000, two sets of jerseys and two footballs to UCC Youngsters to support the club’s fight against relegation in the Ghana Division One League.
The donation was made when the MP visited the team at the University of Cape Coast to motivate the players ahead of their remaining matches in the league season.
Addressing the players, Dr. Nyarku urged them to remain focused and committed as they push to secure their place in the league. According to him, the team needs just a few crucial victories to guarantee survival.
He challenged the players to secure at least three wins from their remaining eight matches, promising to reward the team for every victory recorded.
Dr. Nyarku further encouraged the players to give their best, noting that football scouts are constantly monitoring performances and that the matches present an opportunity for them to showcase their talent.
To further motivate the team, the MP announced that he would provide additional financial support in the coming weeks to help boost morale and strengthen the club’s campaign.
Officials of the team expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing the support as timely and encouraging as the club battles to maintain its status in the Division One League.
The UCC Youngsters are currently fighting to avoid relegation and will be hoping the support from the Cape Coast North MP inspires strong performances in their remaining fixtures.
