The Cape Coast Circuit Court two has sentenced Samuel Armah, also known as Kofi Nyan who defiled a 13-year-old girl in the Central Region to ten years imprisonment in hard labour.
The accused was arrested on October 17, 2025 after a video of the incident went viral on social media on October 16, 2025.
The 49-year-old fisherman is said to have lured the minor into a ghetto at Mumford, a suburb of Apam, before committing the act.
Police on receipt of information proceeded to the area, and with the assistance of Mumford, task force arrested the suspect. The survivor was sent to St. Luke Catholic Hospital for examination and treatment.
According to the police, the docket was referred to the Central Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) where the accused admitted to the offense.
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Samuel Armah pleaded guilty to the charge when the case was called at the Cape Coast Circuit Court Two, Presided over by Her Honour Nana Aba Quiba Nunoo.
He was convicted on his own plea and sentenced to serve ten (10) years imprisonment in hard labour and has since been sent to Ankaful Prison to begin his sentence.
