Two persons are feared dead with 23 others injured after a Mercedes Sprinter Bus veered off the road and crashed into a tree at Gomoa Simbrofo on the Accra-Takoradi highway.
The bus with the registration number GT 5873-09 is said to have had one of its rear tyres burst causing the serve and the crash into the tree.
According to Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service at Apam, they received a distress call at 07 11hrs after which they rescued the 23 victims.
Six of the victims were sent to the Winneba Trauma Hospital with the 17 others sent to the St. Luke’s Hospital in Apam, including the mate of the vehicle.
The two deceased victims believed to be in their mid-to-late thirties, were also sent to St. Luke’s Hospital.
