Attorneys for artiste manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson nicknamed Bulldog and Shatta Wale have begun talks to settle the former’s defamation suit against the latter out of court.
The lawyer for Bulldog, Justice Srem Sai, made this known when they appeared in court on Tuesday, March 7.
He informed the court, ruled over by Justice Joseph Adu Agyemang Owusu, that the parties were unable to present their witness statements as required due to settlement discussions.
“The case is subject to settlement. We wish to pray for one more adjournment to attempt a settlement and depending on the outcome we may apply formally for an extension of time to file our witness statement,” the counsel told the court.

The lawsuit has been postponed until April 18, 2023.
Background
Bulldog sued his former artiste for defamation in 2022.
This came after the musician threatened to reveal his supposed secret about the murder of late artiste manager Fennec Okyere, among others.
Bullgod’s lawyers stated in court records filed before an Accra High Court that these comments aim to imply that he planned, effected, or had a hand in Mr Okyere’s killing.
They went on to say that some of Shatta Wale’s claims implied that “the Plaintiff is a person who engages in illicit gun violence, contract killing, and other related crimes,” as well as “that the Plaintiff is in the business of procuring, controlling, and arranging prostitutes in exchange for money and other material gains.”
Bulldog is asking the court to declare that these and other remarks detailed in the claim are defamatory and malicious.
He also wants the court to order Shatta Wale to withdraw his accusations and apologize to him.
Among other things, Bulldog is seeking “general damages for defamation, special damages for defamation, punitive damages for the malicious publication of falsehood against the plaintiff, cost, and any other orders or remedies that the Court may deem fit.”
