Black stars players have started joining their various clubs after the international break. The players featured in the last AFCON qualifiers game against Cental African Republic and managed to win 2-1 in a relatively average performance.
The team also amazed fans with a resounding 3-1 victory over Liberia in an international friendly played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 12,2023.
The Black Stars, who typically play their games in Kumasi, made a rare trip to Accra, the nation’s capital, and they did not let down the ardent supporters who endured the bad weather and unfavorable field to cheer the team.
Both teams struggled to break the tie during the tight first half of the game. To the pleasure of the audience, the second half featured an explosion of action and goals.

What happened in the game?
Ernest Nuamah stole the show in the 52nd minute with a moment of sheer brilliance. After receiving a superbly timed long pass from Nicholas Opoku, he scored the game’s first goal, rendering the opposing goalkeeper powerless. Nuamah had already scored in Ghana’s final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR), and this goal represented a significant achievement for him.
Mohammed Kudus added to Ghana’s lead seven minutes later with a precise finish. The goal was the outcome of an excellent attacking sequence including Semenyo and Nuamah, demonstrating the trio’s outstanding chemistry and teamwork.
