Black Sherif, a Ghanaian superstar, has received the prestigious Hip Hop Act of the Year award at the 2023 Soundcity MVP Awards festival.
The event was held at Lagos, Nigeria’s Eko Convention Center.

The 21-year-old knocked out South Africa’s Nasty C and AKA, Nigeria’s Blaqbones, Ladipoe, and Kenya’s Khaligraph Jones, among others, to win with his global blockbuster tune, ‘Kwaku The Traveller.’
Last year in October 2022, Black Sherif released his much-anticipated album, The Villain I Never Was, which received tremendous streams and positive reviews across multiple digital streaming platforms.
His distinct combination of highlife, afrobeat, and trap has earned him a growing fan base, and his live performances are noted for being dynamic and entertaining.
