Following the enormous success of his first Mozama Disco performance at the Labadi Beach Hotel last year, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year winner Black Sherif is set to host another one soon.
So on Thursday, December 21, at 7 p.m., there will be a performance called Zaama Disco, which will take place at La Palm Royal Beach in Accra this time. Some of Ghana’s best musicians will be performing, and they are sure to excite fans.
Black Sherif stated in an interview with Graphic Showbiz that the event won’t be impacted in any way by the name change from Mozama Disco to Zaama Disco.
“Mozama Disco is same as Zaama Disco. The new name makes it simply and catchy. The concert is an annual one and it has come to stay.
“The maiden edition which was supported by acts including Sarkodie, Bosom P Young, KiDi, Gyakie, Cina Souls, Wendy Shay and Lasmid was massive and I believe the second will be mind- blowing.

“Already, my team and I are putting in a lot to make sure it is a success. A lot of rehearsals are ongoing and I am glad the musicians I called to perform gladly accepted my invitation”, he stated.
In 2019, Black Sherif released a demo called Cry for Me, marking the start of his career. However, the music video for his debut single, Money, was released on May 25, 2020.
His release of a second song, First Sermon, in May 2021 expanded his fan base even more. He then delivered the Second Sermon, which included Burna Boy of Nigeria.
The publication of Black Sherif’s tune Kwaku the Traveller in March 2022 marked his major break; it quickly rose to the top of the Ghanaian and Nigerian Apple Music charts, becoming his most well-known song. Later in October of last year, he released his debut album, The Villain I Never Was.
Black Sherif won Artiste of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) the same year that he won Best Hip-Hop at the Soundcity MVP Awards at the Eko Convention Center in Lagos on February 20, 2023.
