Black Sherif, a Ghanaian musician, is a nominee for the 55th National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards in the best outstanding pair, group, or collaboration category.
The date of the NAACP Image Awards event for this year is Saturday, March 16, 2024.
Along with Dreamville’s American rapper Bas and Nigerian producer/singer Kel-P, Black Sherif earned a spot on the soundtrack for Creed III, the box office hit movie that is a 2023 American sports drama directed and produced by Michael B. Jordan. Jordan plays the lead role of Adonis Creed in the film.
The two-hour LIVE TV spectacular, which airs on BET and CBS on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 8:00 PM ET/PT, will reveal the winners of the 55th NAACP awards.
Monde Twala, Senior Vice President of Paramount Africa and Peer Lead at BET International, commented on the African nominations for this year, saying, “We take pride in shining a spotlight on black legacy and excellence. As a conduit for honoring authentic stories and recognizing groundbreaking work in film, television, theatre, music, and literature, we have a global array of African artists, including Burna Boy, Davido, Tems, Asake, Libianca, Black Sherif, Lojay, Omah Lay, and Ayra Starr, securing nods in the music categories. Adding to the brilliance, Ayo Edebiri, John Boyega, Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Daniel Kaluuya, Lola Akinmade Åkerström receive well-deserved nominations spanning Motion Picture, Literary, and Television categories.”
With six and five nominations, respectively, Victoria Monét and Usher had the most nominations in the music recording categories. With an astounding 20 nominations, RCA Records led all record labels in this category. Penguin Random House and HarperCollins Publisher had the most nominations in the literary categories with seven and four nods, respectively.
With three nominations, Colman Domingo leads the field for motion picture nominations. With two nominations for Abbott Elementary and The Bear, Ayo Edebiri garnered the most nominations in the television and streaming categories.

The public can cast votes to choose the winners of certain categories in the “55th NAACP Image Awards” by going to www.naacpimageawards.net. Voting ends at 9:00 p.m. on February 24. On March 16, 2024, on BET and CBS, the “55th NAACP Image Awards” presentation will unveil the winners. The non-televised Image Awards categories will also have winners announced by NAACP on March 11–14; the event will be streamed live at naacpimageawards.net.
