Ghana’s women’s national team, the Black Queens, are set to take on Japan in a friendly match this July. The match will be held on July 13, 2024, at the Karzawa Go-Go Curry Stadium in Tokyo.
Japan sees this friendly as part of their preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, while Ghana is gearing up for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, despite the tournament’s date yet to be announced. Coach Nora Hauptle is diligently leading the Black Queens in their preparations for WAFCON, leaving no stone unturned.

Ghana secured qualification for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2018 by defeating Namibia in the final round of qualifiers. Although the team narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Olympic Games after Zambia defeated them in the penultimate round, Hauptle has maintained a strong record, having lost only two matches since taking over as coach of the Black Queens in 2023.
