Entrepreneur and National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi Central, Baba Sadiq, has urged stakeholders in the entertainment industry to refrain from criticizing Deputy Minister Mark Okraku-Mantey for unmet expectations.
In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, Baba Sadiq pointed out that the slow progress of the creative industry is primarily due to inadequate government support rather than the individual effort of Okraku-Mantey.
Sadiq emphasized that Okraku-Mantey’s actions are hampered by the lack of presidential backing and broader governmental support.

“Instead of targeting Mark specifically due to personal grievances, stakeholders should direct their concerns towards the government,” he emphasized.
He further criticized President Nana Akufo-Addo for the lack of government support to empower the creative arts sector.
“There is a lack of strong commitment from the government to foster and empower the creative industry with visionary initiatives and clear objectives,” he added.
Regarding Okraku-Mantey’s role as deputy minister, Sadiq stressed the limitations of his position and redirected attention to the President, urging critics to hold him accountable for unfulfilled promises to the creative industry.
“Mark can only do so much as a deputy minister. Rather than blaming him for shortcomings, stakeholders should directly engage the President and question the delays in fulfilling commitments made over the past eight years,” Sadiq stated.
