Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, the Ashanti Region’s representative for Asawase, has filed a slander lawsuit against 11 NDC branch officials in the area.
The 11 people are accused of publishing and disseminating remarks deemed libellous against the MP.
The Asawase MP is suing the defendants for GH$10 million in damages.

The defendants and other media outlets that published the alleged defamatory material were also ordered by a Kumasi High Court to retract their statements and issue an unequivocal apologies in a national newspaper.
On March 10, 2023, a press release containing the aforementioned defamatory statements was issued by some NDC members in the Asawase Constituency under the direction of the 11 branch executives.
When Citi News contacted the defendants’ attorney, he declined to comment on the development but stated that he is trying to represent his clients in court.
