Apple typically unveils its new hardware in the fall, and this year is expected to be no exception. The event is rumored to be scheduled for September 9, where Apple is likely to announce the iPhone 17 lineup, along with updates for the Apple Watch and AirPods.
As always, numerous rumors are circulating, including larger screens and enhanced cameras for the iPhone 17 models, as well as the potential introduction of an ultra-thin iPhone Air to replace the Plus model.
iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max
The iPhone 17 is anticipated to receive a significant redesign to align more closely with the Pro models. It may feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, an increase of 0.2 inches compared to the iPhone 16, along with a 120Hz refresh rate—a major upgrade from the current 60Hz. Additionally, it might come equipped with a 24-megapixel front camera and new color options, including purple and green.
Rumored upgrades for the Pro models include a redesigned rear camera layout, possibly featuring three cameras arranged in a rectangular bar across the back of the device. The flash, light sensor, and microphone would be positioned to the right, with the Apple logo centered for aesthetic appeal.
Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro may switch from a titanium band to aluminum around the screen, which could help reduce costs and provide a lighter feel.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to see fewer upgrades, with the primary change being a slightly thicker body to accommodate a larger battery, which would be a significant benefit.
Leaker Instant Digital predicts that the iPhone 17 will be priced around $800, while the Pro Max is expected to cost about $1,250, with new Pro model colors potentially including dark blue and copper. The Pro model is estimated to retail for around $1,050, but recent leaks suggest there will be fewer storage options, with users losing the 128GB choice and having just three options: 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.
iPhone Air
One of the most talked-about rumors is the introduction of the iPhone Air, which could be Apple’s thinnest phone ever, replacing the iPhone Plus. This device is said to have a profile thickness of just 5.5 mm, making it about 0.08 inches thinner than current iPhones, and will feature a 6.6-inch display.
This move appears to be Apple’s response to the trend of slimmer smartphones, aiming to outshine competitors like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which measures 5.8 mm thick. Additionally, it may set the stage for Apple’s long-rumored foldable phone, expected to launch in September 2026.
However, this sleek design may come with compromises, such as only one rear camera lens instead of two, and possibly insufficient space for a bottom speaker, leaving the front earpiece as the sole audio source.
Reports suggest the iPhone Air will be priced around $950 and offered in black, silver, and light gold.

Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3
After a two-year wait, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is rumored to undergo significant upgrades, potentially including faster charging, 5G support, and satellite connectivity. A larger display is also expected.
One of the most exciting potential features for both the Ultra 3 and Series 11 is blood pressure monitoring, which would alert users to abnormal levels. Apple is also considering adding a sleep apnea feature, although some reports indicate these features may be delayed for further refinement.
Apple recently announced a redesigned blood oxygen feature for some Series 8, 10, and Ultra watches, suggesting the Ultra 3 may also receive this capability, though it was not confirmed for watchOS 26.
The third generation of the Apple Watch SE is not expected to see major updates, aside from possibly a larger display; reports have also mentioned a plastic version in development.
Rumored prices for the watches are $250 for the Apple Watch SE 3, $400 for the Series 11, and $800 for the Ultra 3.
AirPods Pro 3
Following the release of the AirPods Pro 2 in 2022, an upgrade seems imminent. Rumors suggest that the AirPods Pro 3 will feature a sleeker design, touch-sensitive controls, smaller earbuds, and a slimmer case. Additionally, the anticipated H3 chip is expected to enhance active noise cancellation and adaptive audio.
