Apple has assembled a new team to create a ChatGPT-like application, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This team, known as Answers, Knowledge, and Information, aims to develop an “answer engine” capable of responding to questions using information from across the web. This initiative could result in a standalone app or enhance search functionalities in Siri, Safari, and other Apple products.

Gurman also mentions that Apple is actively recruiting for this team, seeking candidates with expertise in search algorithms and engine development.
While Apple has already integrated ChatGPT into Siri, a more personalized, AI-driven update for the voice assistant has faced multiple delays. Additionally, Apple may need to revise its search agreement with Google following the latter’s recent antitrust ruling.
