The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral Project, Apostle Opoku Onyinah has called on all churches across the country to collectively help to ensure the completion of the national cathedral.
He said the dedication of the church through a one week prayer time every month as well as special offerings from the church will help to raise enough funds to complete the $250 million project.
“It has been proposed that if the churches are able to mobilize at least one million Christians in the country who will faithfully commit themselves to contribute a minimum of GHS100 every month, from now till the next three years, the necessary funds will be generated for the project.”
The National Cathedral which is described by many as Ghana’s spiritual home, is in fulfilment of a promise President Akufo-Addo said he made to God before his victory in the 2016 general elections.

According Apostle Onyinah, the cathedral is a physical embodiment of peace, harmony and spirituality, hence raising funds is timely for cash flow to facilitate the processes of completing the project successfully.
He emphasized that “If we are able to put it up, people will know the contributions that Africans have made to Christianity and how the bible has also imparted society; therefore we will appeal to them to take everything Coonley and have patience and contribute towards the putting up of the Cathedral.”
Apostle Onyinah was speaking to the media at the sidelines of a fund raising ceremony for the National Cathedral on Sunday at the Royal House Chapel International in Accra.
He believes that, with completion and commissioning of the National Cathedral, the worth of the project will be witness by all.
The 5,000-seater auditorium is expected to be completed by March 2024.
