Private investigative firm Tiger Eye P.I. and Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas have refuted Nyantakyi’s claim of attempting to bribe them with $100,000.
The duo in a statement firmly rejected any accusations of soliciting or accepting bribes from Kwesi Nyantakyi before releasing the documentary “Number 12.”
The ex-president of the Ghana Football Association claimed he paid $100,000 to Anas Aremeyaw Anas in an attempt to prevent the exposé from being made public.
Nyantakyi alleged that Anas requested $150,000 through his lawyers to halt the story but settled for $100,000.
However, Tiger Eye P.I and Anas refuted these claims in a statement issued on April 2, labelling the former football official as naïve.
They emphasized that their main goal is to expose and fight corruption, making the idea of protecting corrupt individuals illogical considering the significant resources and efforts invested in their investigative work.
Tiger Eye P.I. highlighted their stringent internal controls that prevent any tampering or suppression of investigations.
They noted that Nyantakyi’s attempt to offer a bribe exposes his involvement in corrupt practices and justifies the FIFA-imposed ban on his participation in football-related activities at both national and international levels.
The investigative firm also denied any collaboration with the lawyer Kwame Gyan, whom Nyantakyi claimed facilitated the alleged bribery.
Tiger Eye P.I clarified that they have always been represented legally by CromwellGray LLP and not by Kwame Gyan during the production of the Number12 documentary.
They challenged Nyantakyi to provide evidence of the claimed arrangement while reiterating that any criminal dealings involving Nyantakyi and a lawyer are solely their affair.
The firm proclaimed no involvement or awareness of such activities and urged Nyantakyi to pursue legal action against Kwame Gyan if his allegations hold true.
