He calls this season a write-off for Manchester United. Kitromilides believes even if the team was close to relegation, which he doubts will happen, they should give Amorim more time. “They have to give him time,” he said, stressing that Amorim needs a full pre-season and the players he wants for his plans.
But there are worries about how much money Amorim will have to work with. Mark Schwarzer, a former goalkeeper, is unsure how much Amorim can spend on players to fit his style. The team’s new owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has made budget cuts that fans aren’t happy about. This may make it hard for the club to buy the right players this summer.

Schwarzer pointed out that because of the tight budget, Amorim might have to sell some players before he can buy new ones. Manchester United’s name can drive up transfer prices, making it tough to get the players he needs. “They’re not going to be able to bring in the players that they want,” Schwarzer said, pointing out the difficulty of attracting top talent without enough money.
