Many settlements in the north, south, and Central Tongu districts of the Volta Region had to depart due to flooding brought on by the spillage, leaving inhabitants no choice but to salvage what was left of their possessions.
The harsh conditions forced the Comboni Hospital staff to leave their quarters and seek shelter under a pavilion.
Additionally, patients have been released, leaving just 10 of them in a serious state. They might also need to be emptied if the water levels do not fall rapidly.
