On Monday, March 7, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo departed Ghana to lead Ghana’s delegation to the Dubai Expo 2020.
The Expo’s goal is to forge new partnerships and inspire ground-breaking solutions in key industries around the world. It also aims to promote awareness about the global concerns that humanity is facing.
The Expo offers several opportunities for networking and promoting international connections. At Expo 2020, individual pavilions will be built up, with nations showcasing their own cultures and technological advancements.
President Akufo-Addo will make a remark on ‘Ghana Day,’ which will be held today, March 8, 2022.
He will be undertaking bilateral talks with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on subjects of mutual concern.
President Akufo-Addo will also attend a Business Forum hosted by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and meet with other investors interested in conducting business in Ghana.
The President was joined by Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Trade and Industry Minister Alan Keyerematen, and Presidency and Foreign Ministry officials.
On Thursday, March 10, the President will return to Ghana.
In his absence, the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, would serve in his place in line with Article 60(8) of the Constitution.
