The High Court’s Criminal Court 1 Division has dismissed an appeal brought by the attorneys of actress and socialite Rosemond Brown, better known as Akuapem Poloo.
Akuapem Poloo was sentenced to 90 days in prison by an Accra Circuit Court for distributing obscene content and assaulting the dignity and integrity of her seven-year-old kid in a nude picture she uploaded on social media in June 2020.
Despite the fact that she had completed a portion of her sentence, her attorneys challenged the decision, claiming that it was excessively harsh.
She was then granted GH80,000 bail pending the outcome of the appeal.
On Wednesday, December 1, the Court dismissed her appeal and ordered her to return to jail to serve the remainder of her 90-day sentence.
