After her Weekends with Adele residency show in Las Vegas on November 23, English singer/songwriter Adele will embark on a lengthy musical hiatus.
Before she disappears for a bit, this will be the singer’s fans’ final opportunity to see her long-running stay-put show.
Speaking to Germany’s ZDF, Adele, 36, revealed the startling information, which was covered by Billboard.com, she said,“I don’t have any plans for new music at all.” In fact, the star who said she “doesn’t like being famous,” added, “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
Adele began her Weekends run concert in November 2022, and on November 23 of that year, she is expected to have her final performance at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum.
She has scheduled a number of shows in Munich in an 80,000-capacity venue on August 2, 3, 9, 10, 14, 16, 23, 24, 30 and 31 before taking a musical hiatus.
She claimed that after performing in 100 live events over the previous two years, she felt as though her “tank was quite empty.”
Adele posted on Instagram following the announcement of the first batch of gigs in Munich.
“So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans.
However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea – a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on.”
The singer has a history of taking time off between albums and tours. She hasn’t done a world tour since her 2016–2017 run in promotion of her 25 album.

From three years between her 2008 debut, 19, and 2011’s 21, to four years till her 2015 LP 25, and six between that album and 2021’s 30, those periods of time spent away from the spotlight have grown over time.
The mother of 11-year-old Song Angelo stated to The Hollywood Reporter back in December, ”I have nothing to say yet. I haven’t even thought about it… I have to wait for a feeling.
If I get antsy, that’s when I know I have to go to the studio, and I am the opposite of antsy right now.”
Speaking of new projects, Adele mentioned in that same interview that she wanted to work on one untitled film, but “the guy whose movie it would be, he’s not mentally ready to write the script for it… I bug him every now and then about it, but he’s just not there yet. But that’s the only role I ever want. Because I think I’d nail it. I think I’d do really, really, really good at it.”
Then, at a January Weekends event, Adele teased that when she did, she could be prepared to go on the road once more by saying, “I just don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time.”
Adele’s representative did not respond to Billboard’s request for more information regarding her future plans during a press conference.
