The police have detained movie star Kwadwo Nkansah, better known by his stage name Lil Win, in connection with the deadly accident that occurred at Amakom in Kumasi on Saturday, May 25, 2024.
He was picked up by officers from the Manhyia Divisional Police Command’s Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) not long after he was released from Kumasi’s Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), where he had apparently been admitted since the accident.
On Saturday, May 25, Lil Win was operating an unlicensed Mercedes Benz when it was engaged in an accident that claimed the life of a three-year-old boy.
Little Win suffered the same injuries as the three-year-old boy’s father.
The three-year-old and his father’s car and Lil Win’s struck each other.
On May 25, 2024, near Amakom in Kumasi, the youngster, Nana Yaw, and his father were struck by Lil Win’s car while they were in a vehicle.
According to some eyewitnesses, Lil Win was speeding in the crowded Amakom neighborhood.
After the collision, Nana Yaw and his dad were sent to a local hospital and then to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Later, Nana Yaw, then three years old, passed away.

Jacob Kofi Ampomah, the boy’s father, was admitted to the hospital as well and was receiving care.
In order to ensure that justice is done, the family of the deceased encouraged the authorities to look into the accident in great detail.
They have also voiced their concerns about the neglect of the accident victims at the site, with the actor receiving most of the attention, and they are thinking about taking legal action.
Lil Win was the driver, according to eyewitnesses and police sources, according to Yaw Gyamfi, a relative of the deceased.
In a video, Lil Win—who was hurt in the crash as well—was seen being put into another car. His Mercedes Benz, bearing his name, was badly damaged in the collision. A second video purportedly showed the actor driving at a fast speed while out of his lane, as it showed a woman whose car was also struck.
Lil Win went to the Kumasi premiere of his film “A Country Called Ghana” on Saturday night despite the incident.
