The eight-day load shedding that affected sections of Accra ended at 6:00 a.m. today, May 18, 2021, according to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
This was announced by the power distribution company in a press release on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
“Following the earlier notice of the need to interrupt power supply for eight (8) days from Monday, May 10th to Monday, May 17th 2021, to allow the tie-in of the newly constructed Pokuase Bulk Supply Point (BSP) to GRIDCo‘s 330kV transmission line, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) wishes to inform the public, especially the affected customers, that the programme has ended today, Tuesday, May 17th 2021,”
“This project is part of initiatives to increase power supply stability and system voltages,” the announcement continued.
ECG says it will also confirm other scheduled power outages in the coming days to enable its contractors to finish maintenance work on the Kasoa Bulk Supply Point (BSP).
“Other required interruptions in power supply will be communicated in due course to allow contractors to complete the next project,” says the Kasoa Bulk Supply Point (BSP).
