Five individuals were killed in a car accident on the Accra-Kumasi route on Monday morning.
Their vehicles collided head-on between the Apedwa and Bunso highway junction, according to reports.
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, Eastern Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, stated that five individuals out of a total of 13 passengers on board a Toyota Hiace minibus perished on the scene.
According to him, the collision occurred near Akyem-Birimso.
According to reports, the bus they were riding on went off the road and collided with the back end of a DAF truck.
According to police, the driver of a Toyota Minibus with the registration number GT 3799-16, which is now deceased, lost control of the bus and collided with an articulated truck with the registration number AK 1145 – 21.
Seven additional passengers on board the Toyota minibus were injured and are presently being treated at a hospital in Osiem.
