Abiana, a singer-songwriter from Ghana, has stated that she hopes to take home the plaques from this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), which are set on June 1, after winning all four of her nominations.
The singer feels that as she has put in a great deal of work over the past year, it is only right that she wins every category for which she was nominated on the evening that will be held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Nominations were given to her for Record of the Year, EP/Album of the Year, Best Highlife of the Year, and Best Female Vocalist of the Year.
On Monday, April 8, Abiana, whose true name is Eldah Naa Abiana Dickson, spoke in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, “Ideally, I would love to win everything. I worked extremely hard during the year under review and I hope to grab everything. My team and I are hopeful of having a great night at the awards. I would have loved to get as many nominations as possible but I am content with what I have been given and I am extremely grateful.
“Thankfully, I got four nominations, which I am grateful to the TGMA Board, Academy, fans, and Ghanaians in general for their enormous support over the years,” she noted.
She says that while she is pleased with her four nominations, she would have been ecstatic to have her music video for the song Far Away nominated for Best Music Video of the Year since she put a lot of effort into making it excellent.

Abiana expressed her wish to win EP/Album of the Year, saying that “the EP is very close to her heart and it would be a great honor to win the award,” while discussing each of her nominations.
She said that winning it would be a momentous occasion that would symbolize the climax of her years of effort, devotion, and passion.
It would be an acknowledgment of her achievements and proof of the encouragement she received from her group and everyone else who encouraged and believed in her.
“Also, recognition in the Highlife category is a great honour and it would be a privilege to receive this award. Female Vocalist is always a wonderful nod to get when I consider the incredible female talents around. Of course, Record of the Year will also mean a lot, as a live music performer.
“I am honoured to receive four nominations, and I value each category I have been given with equal gratitude. I urge all of my fans and Ghanaians to cast their votes when the time is due. My Taste of Africa EP has great songs. Kindly stream it on all the digital platforms”, she said.
