In a terrible incident, an unnamed police officer was killed in an automobile accident while pursuing a traffic offender in Kentinkrono, Ashanti Region.
The tragedy occurred late afternoon on Wednesday, April 17, and claimed the officer’s life.
The officer, riding a police patrol motorcycle, collided with a stationary truck, resulting in lethal injuries that killed him instantaneously.
Despite attempts to resuscitate him, the severity of the accident proved fatal.
However, the suspect, who was riding a motorcycle and being chased by the police, survived the crash.
The specifics of the event, including the purpose for the chase and the identification of the traffic offender, are still being investigated by police.

According to an eyewitness called Mr. Eshun, the police officer pursuing the traffic offender failed to detect the halted truck until it was too late, resulting in the fatal collision.
“They were both speeding and run into the articulated truck parked on the road,” he said.
The corpse of the slain police officer has been brought to the morgue, and the suspect is presently being treated at a hospital.
