A 23-year-old student of Oyoko School of Dispensing Optics has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kumasi, Tuesday evening.
Kwabena Asumadu met an unexpected demise immediately after dropping off a friend at Sofoline at about 11 p.m.
The deceased, who was driving an unregistered Mercedes-Benz, was shot numerous times through the driver’s side by his attackers.
He was on his way back to Offinso when the sad incident occurred. Kwabena was killed by gunshot wounds to the neck and head.
According to police officials, nothing was taken from him.
Friends of the dead who stormed the Suntreso district police headquarters have not yet accepted the young man’s death.

“Kwabena was a calm and reliable friend. He didn’t have qualms with anyone because he is someone who immediately apologizes to people he offends. We just can’t understand why someone will do something like this to him. We are pained but God knows best”, a friend of the deceased, Addai Derick stated.
Although no arrests have been made, the police have initiated an investigation to apprehend all implicated parties.
Kwabena’s corpse has been sent to the mortuary of the Komfo anokye teaching hospital for an autopsy.
