Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician Alfred Benjamin Crentsil, popularly known as AB Crentsil, in the early hours of Wednesday, 13th July 2022 was reported dead by entertainment producer and pundit, Fred Kyei Mensah also known as Fredyma.
Fredyma broke the news on his Facebook wall captioned “FAREWELL AB CRENTSIL: The original composer and singer of the famous and controversial songs ‘Moses and Atia’, AB Crentsil has died!….”
The Man AB Crentsil
Albert Benjamin Crentsil was born in 1943 in Prestea, Ghana. He was known to be a good highlife artiste, and one of the best vocalists.
He won several Ghanaian music awards, including the Fontomfrom Evergreen Award, a special honor bestowed upon a musician with 15–20 years of continuous music experience.
He had a stint with a lot of bands before joining the Sweet Talks Band with Smart Nkansah and then his own band, Ahenfo…Rest well”
