On Thursday, Adobe launched the latest version of its Firefly image generation AI models, including a new vector generation model and a redesigned web app that integrates its AI offerings alongside those from competitors. A mobile app for Firefly is also in development.
The new Firefly Image Model 4 enhances quality, speed, and user control over output structure, style, camera angles, and zoom capabilities, generating images at resolutions up to 2K. An advanced variant, Image Model 4 Ultra, can render intricate scenes with fine details.
Alexandru Costin, VP of Generative AI at Adobe, noted that the models were trained with significantly more computational power to produce more detailed images. Compared to previous models, the new versions offer improved text generation in images and allow users to incorporate their own images for style referencing.

Additionally, Adobe is expanding access to its Firefly video model, which allows users to create video clips from text prompts or images, specify camera angles, control shot parameters, and customize motion design, generating videos at resolutions up to 1080p.
The Firefly Vector Model enables the creation of editable vector artwork, including logos, packaging, icons, scenes, and patterns.
The revamped Firefly web app provides access to all these models, as well as image and video generation tools from OpenAI, Google, and Flux. Users can easily switch between models, with all generated content accompanied by credentials.
Adobe is also testing a new product called Firefly Boards, designed for ideation and moodboarding. This feature allows users to generate or import images, remix them, and collaborate, similar to existing AI-based ideaboards.
The company plans to integrate these new models into its product lineup soon, though no timeline has been announced.
Furthermore, Adobe is making its Text-to-Image API and Avatar API widely available, alongside a beta version of its Text-to-Video API. These are part of Adobe’s Firefly Services collection.
Adobe is also testing the Adobe Content Authenticity web app, which enables users to attach ownership credentials to their work through metadata and specify AI usage for model training
