Idem Abasifreke, a music producer from Nigeria, has broken the record for the longest recording session in history.
Starting on February 10, Mr. Abasifreke and Beatisblaak Studio organized a 95-hour, 59-minute recording session.
Just one minute separated the record-breaking session from four entire days.
This accomplishment beats the earlier record, which was also accomplished in Nigeria in 2022 and stood for 40 hours and 19 minutes.
Mr. Abasifreke clarified that his goal was to become the world’s greatest music producer while giving up-and-coming vocalists and rappers a stage.
“With the happiness in the faces of the music artists and their willingness to record for an hour each, every day was a new experience, music and vibes. I was happy but busy praying for success”, he stated.
He also disclosed that he drank no coffee to help him stay awake for the ninety-five-hour period.
“As a music producer I’ve been working a lot of day and night sessions,” he explained.

He acknowledged that funding the project and maintaining his studio’s power system for days at a time was the most difficult aspect of the task.
“Electricity was one of the challenges we had because it was coming and going as we tried to keep the power running and data subscription for our Wi-Fi was getting slow and low due to the numbers of people using it.
“We planned to set the record at 100 hours but our timer stopped exactly at 96 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds”, Mr Abasifreke added.
He claimed that it was all worthwhile in spite of the difficulties and hard labor.
“It’s a dream come true and I am still surprised and happy,” he said.A Nigerian music producer and a host of upcoming artists have more than doubled a world record with a historic recording session.
