In a recent interview, seasoned gospel performer from Ghana, Apostle Lenny Akpadie, declared that singing secular music is inappropriate for Christians.
He hinted that since Jesus is the core of Christianity, any other belief system that strays from him is not Christian in an interview with Roselyn Felli that aired on Joy Prime and was monitored by Atlfmnews.
“If you are a Christian and you sing secular music, have you strayed?” The presenter enquired.
Apostle Akpadie replied, “You have seriously strayed. God establishes the bar and declares that light and darkness cannot coexist.”
Additionally, he has expressed doubts about gospel musicians allowing secular musicians to compose music for them.
Considering that gospel preachers have greater spiritual support than secular musicians to produce songs packed with spirit, he views it as a poor choice and a pollution.

Because he is inspired by the Holy Spirit, he will never allow another musician to write one of his songs.
“Those gospel musicians missed it. You can’t write me a song; where is the Holy Spirit. You see, it’s a defilement. The Holy Ghost is our teacher, and I receive songs from the Holy Ghost,” he told Roselyn Felli on Tuesday.
According to him, the message is not as essential as the messenger, thus gospel preachers should speak from their hearts since the song’s lyrics express their convictions.
Popular secular musicians like Kwabena Kwabena and Kuami Eugene are among those who have composed music for gospel performers.
