Actor Joseph Osei, better known by his stage name Wayoosi, from Kumawood, has weighed in on the argument between the advantages of obtaining a foreign passport and the worth of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.
Kofi Gabs, a Ghanaian who works as a janitor in the Netherlands, started the dispute.
Recently, Kofi Gabs, popularly known as Mr. Happiness, obtained his Dutch passport, which he claimed made traveling easier when he intended to see a friend in the US.
Because of this, Kofi Gabs thinks that having a Dutch passport is preferable to having a PhD from Ghana because even a PhD holder will find it difficult to obtain the necessary travel documentation with a Ghanaian passport.

In contrast to his Dutch passport, his remark made clear that a PhD holder in Ghana who does not have a foreign passport will find it difficult to process his travel documents if he wishes to leave the country. The Dutch passport is worth more than a PhD from the University of Ghana, according to Kofi Gabs.
According to Wayoosi, there is no need to compare a PhD to a foreign passport because they have different and distinct functions.
He declared that, even with a legal certificate attached, he would without a doubt select a foreign passport if given the option.
Wayoosi freely voiced his opinions in a video that was shared on social media. “Enough of this pointless debate, okay? How can you equate a foreign passport with a PhD? Even if you combine a law degree with a PhD, my choice would still be the foreign passport. Don’t overthink this and stress yourself,” he said in Twi.
